Q: Is Spray Tanning safe to use?
A: Our exclusive tanning solution has been extensively tested and is very safe and all skin types. Most other tanning solutions are loaded with toxic ingredients that absorb directly into your skin and can cause health problems. Bronze Biologic was the first company to introduce a cosmeceutical tanning solution that is safe and does not contain any harmful chemicals.
Q. Aftercare?
A. We will give you a aftercare check list to take home. Please wear loose clothes to wear after the spray. The solution will rub off on your clothes, but it does not stain. You will need to STAY away from water for the next 8 hours. This allows the solution to set and develop evenly all over. In the morning make sure to take a shower but do not use a wash cloth. Use cooler water and make your shower a short one. (do not go to the gym until you shower). You will see the solution wash off in the shower (this is normal). Then apply moisturizer and a tan extender lotion.
Q. Is it okay to get a tan if pregnant or nursing?
A. Typically, it is safe to use tanning lotion while you are pregnant. The active ingredient Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a three-carbon sugar that is non-toxic and therefore is not harmful to you or your baby. DHA works by interacting with your dead skin cells to produce brown pigment called melanoidin. DHA does not go beyond this layer of cells and is not absorbed into the body. Skin is constantly shedding dead skin cells and renewing itself, and so the tan fades as this happens. BUT…DHA is not approved for “atomized inhalation”. We should be wearing a mask, but occasional – even frequent exposure, has not been linked to any health problems. Please check with your doctor before your visit, and if your doctor approves, make sure your technician is NOT using an alcohol based solution, but an ALOE based solution. Who wants to inhale alcohol while pregnant?
Q: Will my session be private?
A: Absolutely. We do everything inside the comfort of our tanning studio or your own home and your neighbors will be none the wiser.
Q: What should I wear during my spray tan session?
A: This is completely up to you & should be whatever you are comfortable with. Some people choose to wear a swimsuit, some choose to wear a thong while others choose to go nude to prevent any tan lines. If you do choose to wear a swimsuit, please wear a black, or dark colored one.
Q: How soon will I see the tanning result?
A: You will receive an immediate, all natural looking tan that will continue to develop and become darker over the next 6 to 12 hours. The tan will reach its maximum color within 24 hours. People will notice the dramatic results very quickly though since our products have a bronzer in them which will give your skin that sun kissed glow.
Q: What is the purpose of the bronzer in the spray tanning solution?
A:The bronzer has two purposes. First, the instant color helps ensure even coverage by while we tan you. Second, the immediate bronze color provides instant gratification, and could also be important for special events. Again, this color will wash off during your first shower. It is normal to see the color washing down the drain. Once this color washes off, don’t worry, your sunless tan will still be present! (This is the color resulting from the DHA reacting with the skin.)
Q: How long will my tan last?
A: You can expect your tan to last for about 5 to 10 days depending upon your skin type and preparation. Regular moisturizing will extend the life of the tan. We also market products that will extend your tan and can be used in your home. These products contain the same cosmeceuticals that our used in our tanning solutions, which blend well with your tan. Also, an important part of how well your skin tans is how well you prepare your skin to tan. Exfoliating is the most important part. See our TANNING TIPS for everything you need to know to get ready for a great tan.
Q: Will I turn yellow or orange?
A: No, your tan will be your natural tan color. Our tanning solution does not contain the chemicals and dyes that many tanning companies have added into the over the counter spray’s.
Q: How is the Spray-On Tan Applied?
A: Our premier cosmeceutical tanning solution is professionally applied privately in about 8-10 minutes. You will see the tan develop in the next 12-24 hours.
Q: How does spray tanning work?
A: Our skin is made up of two layers: the outer layer is the epidermis and the inner layer is the dermis. The outer most layer is called stratum corneum and this is this layer that is affected by most sunless-tanning products. Our spray tan solution contains dihydroxyacetone (DHA)which acts as the active ingredient.

DHA is a colorless sugar that interacts with the dead cells located in the stratum corneum of the epidermis. As the sugar interacts with the dead skin cells, a color change occurs resulting in a tanned appearance. This change usually lasts about five to seven days from the initial application. Every day, millions of dead skin cells are sloughed off or worn away from the surface of your skin. In fact, every 35 to 45 days, you have an entirely new epidermis. This is why your sunless tan will gradually fade — as the dead cells are worn away, so is your tan. For this reason, Paradise Spray Tan suggests that you reapply your sunless tan about every 8 days to maintain your “tan”.
Our tan solutions are enhanced with bronzers. The bronzers help to give you an immediate tan result. This tan can easily be removed with soap and water and will wash off while your DHA tan stays on your skin. It’s important to remember that your Paradise Spray Tan, will not protect you from the sun’s rays.
